A nice sky
Description: I see lots of talk about skies so I thought I would make one. I assure you this image was created using bryce 5 and if I see any interest in this image I will explain my technique.

I'm interested!

That really is a nice sky, I certinaly wouldn't mind learning how you went about it. It does look a bit fuzzy although that could just be excessive jpging?

Me too.

Did you go about it like Robert Buttery described in his sky tutorial on http://www.landshapes.btinternet.co.uk ? The sky sure looks realistic.

Hey Good

I'm sure glad someone figured it out with only 25 hits on that pic I thought no one would catch on. Take a look at my next pic coming later today. If I see that someone wants the exact details on how to make this I will post a special gift.

Fuzzy questions

Is the fuzzyness jpging or is this down to your mysterious technique?

Here's the secret!

This image was done using an altered technique from the one I posted earlier. This was indeed a picture of a sky. An actual picture. The picture was applied as a terrain in the terrain generator. The elevation was then reduced to a very low setting to give a unique texture. After this go to material editor and apply the same picture to the material editor. After this apply it to the terrain, and scale it to the size you want. Stand the terrain veritically. Make sure the standard bryce skylab setting is either white or black. After this you can ad volumetric clouds and ect. Then save image as a jpeg. Then take ur favorite bryce landscape and erase the sky in photoshop. Then cut out the sky in your saved sky jpeg so that it fits perfectly into place with the bryce landscape. Its technique that takes a little more time to do , but its alot better than adding the sky to your render time.

Ahh!

I thought it looked too real... Hey this new colour scheme is really playing with my eyes, I can't see what I'm typing, what am I typing? I don't know, I can't see... maybe it's the way my monitor is set up? Huh, whatever, I can make as many mistakes as I like now, I've got an decent excuse. I like the idea but it sounds very faffing to me and what happens if you've got a highly reflective surface in your image, if your adding the sky after then it won't be reflected right will it?

hmmm....

Why not add this super-duper sky into the actual scene. Make it really big and put it in the background OR just render the clouds then put the picture as a flat object in the background of the scene.....
