Pencil Sketch Island
Description: Taking an old render from 4 years back http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3133 which I also used to create the approximation of a toon shaded variant http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=3337 I used here a method from David to create a pencil sketch. I worked on a tutorial from a video by David for our Bryce Mentoring DVD 2 and wanted to test my tutorial. It os just amazing what Bryce can do. There is no post processing. This is the raw Bryce 7.1 Pro render.

Well, it does look somehow painted (or drawn). There is this really neat noise I like very much. Besides cel-shading and postworking I have no clue as to how I can produce a pencil sketch type of raw render. I have a proposition for you - will you try it for me to render the img smaller but with more harder shadows (even if banding appears) and noisier - say 4 rpp instead of 9 or 16rpp. I'm interested if we can boost the effect of pencil drawing by having darker and more destinct shadows + noise to simulate an imperfect paper surface for example. If you don't have the time - it's alright. You caught my attention and now I'm curious where this will lead us.

Very cool Horo, i have been trying to get this effect in Bryce for a while, right now i do it in postwork. A new mentoring DVD huh, i will have to keep my eye out for it, the first one is a valuable refrence tool that i use often.

Thank you Waleed. I am always surprised what can be done in Bryce without using any other graphics program.
