It's a beautiful scene, we've talked of the VA at other occasions. I mean, it's a 5/5 for sure. But tell me, what are those shadows doing in front of the persons and the rock behind them?

Very beautiful, the clouds look great( i envy those that can make clouds like that, i have not quite figured out how to make it work yet ) To me the shadows that Horo is talking about look like reflections in wet sand.

You get the same vote here as you got on the DAZ gallery. 5/5 of course!

If I have one complaint, and you can probably anticipate what I am going to say, is that the waters edge does not meet the beach in a way that appears particularly natural.

To put this in context, the rest of the image is so good, that I'm really scratching to find fault.

Very, very good picture. I like the smooth transition from the wet to the dry sand. Lovely palm trees. Very convincing.
Only two tiny little flaws: I think, the rocks should sink a bit into the sand. They looks like the lie on a stone-hard surface and not on sand.
And the mountain in the background looks a bit strange in my eyes. But overall a phantastic Bryce picture! Chapeau! (Kudos to you)

It's always a pleasure to see the new rashad production. It's a beautifull place we have here but like David, i have comments about water. It looks more like a puddle than like the sea. Some ripples and a little foam will be much appreciate and the texture is not appropriate.

However, a 5/5 for the stunning vegetation and the sand!

Hey, thanks guys. Hmm, that darned water, I already have a sort of foaming effect along the edges where it gets a little whiter but I guess it is not registering with viewers so I will need to come up with something better. David has some ideas for me to test out but I do not know if they will work in this scene since I am already in the memory red zone. We shall see.

It must be said btw, that the basic terrain material wet to dry sand was produced by David Brinnen at my special request for this VA project. I did tweak the material a good bit into my exact needs but tweaking is hardly worth praise compared to building it up from scratch as he has done. Thanks David for your insights.

More to come.

If you're above the maximum memory usage, why don't you try to use l.a.a? It's a good way to enjoy some new improuvement with bryce you know?

Thanks c-ram. You are correct as usual. Yes, when this project hits the market it will require LAA, and that is the problem. I want LAA to be optional for the end user, but instead it appears that it will be mandatory. How this would affect sales of the product is an issue I am considering. Also a concern is the terrible slowness of navigation in complex scenes such as this which LAA does not solve as far as know. Experienced users will get it without too much drama, but newbies might be prompted to return the item for fear their computers are crashed when really they are just working slowly. Who knows? The renders are pretty swift however, just the nav that sucks.

I do not have a 64 bit operating system yet but will get one soon. I have tested LAA on Xp and it works fine, but I would rather use a 64 bit operating system combined with that special app that allows LAA for 32 bit softwares on 64 bit systems.

All right rashad. I admit that this scene must be loadable and available to the whole users.

Just one word for loud objects scenes: you're not going to be able to work with bryce faster by using a 64 bits/LAA.

The only way to go faster with those sc?nes is to had one or two powerfull cross X gpu.

My new system run with two radeon 6870HD (1,5go ddr5 each one)

I have made some tests in bryce using a single gpu and then both and this solution increase the reactivity speed.

For sure, it increase the price of my new config too..

Good to know about the multiple GPU. I am running a xeon system with 8 cores currently and it is 64 bit ready i just need to install the operating system. not sure what its limits on GPU are but i will look into that. thanks again for the great advice.

Thanks Rashad, well you know, I do like to play with materials and also as you know I'm trying to line up another (perhaps less "expensive" in terms of memory used) solution for the shore. When you are ready to face the challenge of a second in this series, if you like I will assists you with a procedural based solution (which at least is compact on memory).

Hi Rashad, everything looks pretty good. My one problem is the rocks. I usually sink them into the ground a bit.
