Torus'ss.
Description: Bryce7 beta.
I was watching a Tron Legacy trailer and it got me wondering how the glow effect might be done in Bryce.
Rendered using the new TA as opposed to old and a bit broken TA.
I've got no idea where I'm going with this. Just wanting to get a specific effect.
Sort of works...

Edit. Oh, I should add that the reflection is one of Horo's hdr's which he specular convolved - here it is used as a background and does not contribute any direct lighting. But as far as TA is concerned, it works as a good light source.

Nice form on the Tori surface. Light is very convincing and the glow effect looks good. Interesting floor.

Before I read the description I thought of Legacy. Very well done.

The hot light effect is made by using a material that is 100 diffuse, 100 ambient, 100 reflective, 100 transparent, 100 refractive index. This was applied to a thin torus that was allowed to poke out of either side of the Wings wheels model. The combination of these settings means that the material will appear very bright even with only slight illumination.
