For one of your first indoors, you made a fantastic job. I think the camera is a bit low, but that's the artist's choice.

What is missing here are shadows. There are no shadows and this makes the room appear wrong. Switch on the shadow casting in the sky lab and for the lights you've used.

Again, nasty shadows huh? Other than that the scene, as a modeling and texturing even, is almost complete. Such a nice texture you put on the fireplace. Now what you should do is to apply similar quality textures to the floor and the walls. Remember to use larger sized textures then your output render in pixels. Rashad has made some marvelous interior setups and I advise you to examine the images carefully and read the coresponding comments. That is in case you haven't already checked those out. It might help you further on. So below are some of my favourites of Rashads interior art and two of my own renders plus some sort of "how-to" of the last scene to keep you occupied and well informed. Now, it might seem quite overwhelming at first, just take it one at a time. Who knows, this could inspire you for your designs:

[First Day in her New York City Studio Apartment]
[Hotel Room Scenario Pro Render Compliant]
[Room Design]
[Open House]
[the Attic - Night-time]
[the Attic - Daylight]

[the Attic - Light setup How-to]

One at a time, Trish.. Let's hope this "info-gathering" above will prove useful to you.

Good indor render, Trish! I like your textures very much! But texture on the wall behind the fireplace is a bit stretched - You could increase frequency a bit to avoid this. Wish You good luck!

There is not much criticism I can add to this piece. The lighitng is good but lacking shadows as mentioned, and ther eis a wall texturing scaling problem. but the eis great potential here. i will add further comments on other versions. i will say thanks to Richter for siting my renders and I do hope that you found the exercise useful, Trish. Very good start!
