Dead in the Water
Description: Just something I played with. Serving two years in and around Viet Nam from 1965 to 1967, I have seen scenes very similar to this. And scenes much worse, but I will not be rendering anything from them. Just this one piece.

Enjoy

Really nice models and the terrain is pretty nice also. However the submarine and the boat compared to the fighter and waves seem to be a little bit small. Apart from that I quite like it.

Yes, the main issue here is scale. The vessel is too small for the submarine. Or the waves have to be smaller, making the part of the sea we see larger. Otherwise, the water is fairly good, the sky and landscape are good, too. The near fighter is also a bit on the large side but perhaps it is much nearer than we think. The scene is rather busy but then - you were there, not me.

You have here little scale problem, but except of this, I have no remarks. I just can't even imagine how it feels - to be in the middle of battle, or even near the place, where the battle appeares... Like your foam near the submarine. Nice picture.

Yup, I agree with everyone. I really messed up the scaling here, sorry.

No need of appologies, Rebel. Everyone could mess up the scaling, that's an understandable 3d "bonus" you get once in awhile when you give life to a certain scenario. What I usually do to avoid scalling issues is once you import all your objects, place them in line a then adjust their size. After that you can arrange them wherever you wish. I preffer to do this as early as possible, so later on I won't have to re-edit the scale of the terrain for example (which is fine in your composition) to make up for an aircraft or ship, even human-size figures. Just something small to keep in mind. Good luck further!

Asside from the scaling issue, I really like this piece. The water looks good, a bit solid but still very nice. How did you add the streaks along the wings? I can see this developling into a number of very awesome scenes. Big machines are always fun to look at!
