New Technocity.
Description: A remake Technocity, some city in the water... just an excuse really to create and interesting architectural shape. The yellow flying machines are from DAZ. The "city" is made from Lattices, four or five and a few odd cubes. The material used I previously uploaded to the x-change, was used in Infinite city. The lighting thanks to Horo, is BelowBhutanBridgeLights.hdr at a quality of 128 it took a couple of hours to render. The water is also from the x-change - silver water. Nothing very complicated then, but a bit of a break for me since I've spent most of my spare time the last month trying to learn myself Flash 8. And since Christmas, playing GTA SanAndreas...

I have noticed this before: your Infinite City mat is very versatile usable. I may have overdone it a bit in Cyber City but the material is really excellent. Interesting idea to build those block-cities on water. Though the city being built in the foreground has a bit of a nervous qualitiy, you made up for this nicely with the calm water. An excellent composition. The light is also spot on: where the light hits the wall warmly redish and blue in the shadowy parts. I like this very much. It's just the colour of "porters" are a bit clashing with the rest, IMHO. Could be from the Vogon Construction Fleet. But this is a question of taste and for me, it is a 5/5 in any case.

Very cool looking. The strong color tint of the hdri works well here and sets the mood very effectively. I like that the hdri transitions from reddish to blueish and that is reflected in the sky gradient very nicely. It has an evening feeling to it just as it should. Nice! 5/5

Yup, now that Gat mentions it, motion blur would work really nice to the, lets say, nearest model carrying the "odd" cube. I guess the approach to postworking motion blur in Psp is almost the same as in P-shop. I remember applying this kind of blurring to some running soldiers when I did the Nerakh-Taar battle with IBL. With the lasso tool I carefully selected the figure I wanted to be m-blurred, copied only that marked area and in a new layer I pasted it right on top of where I made my copy from. Then I just blurred the new layer in a degree direction I want and voila! :)

Nice shapes this city is made of! Intriguing futuristic design with some really good material on it. The light is what "completes the circle". I really like how the far "building" sinks into the horizon. Once again a Job Well Done for you!

Thanks for the guide on motion blur, I did give it a go, and got it to work - sort of. I confess I've never really got to grips with any serious use of my paint package and find that the results are often more the work of chance than design.

Yes the yellow aircraft are a bit "colourful" - I considered giving them a paint job to match the rest of the scene, but decided against it because their geometry also clashes with that of the constuction, so I thought I would stick with maximum contrast. It might not have been the right choice - but that was my reasoning. That and the fact, not changing anything is the path of least resistance.
