Fuel Rods
Description: The architecture is the Bryce model ?The Machine? from DAZ3D. The fuel rods are partly transparent cylinders with two violet radials inside each. The water is a plane and underneath blue fog to give it some substance. The scene is lit by the 96 radials in the rods and 16 yellow radials above the viewers position. Took almost 1? days to render. The sig was added as an afterthough, it blop- (or is it blop?) rendered in ? hour, positioning it took 5 hours. Bryce gets seriously slowed down when a lot of objects are in the scene. And the Machine is made of Bryce primitives, there are over 2 million polygones.

48 cones, 96 lights, so two lightsources per cone. Along with the yellow lights behind the viewer, and only 1 1/2 days to render? The original Afternoon by the pool scene used a fake sun made of about 100 lights and it took my machine the better part of a month to render. You are on a very good machine! Is there more light to the top left also, perhaps just the bryce sun?

Oh, and by the way, your scene is flawless. Textures, light, viewing perspective, all very engaging. 5/5. I also love your Horo symbo.

Oh yes, it is believable!! It's like I'm in a factory of some sort. All the waiting for the render was worth it! I can only echo Rashad's comment, excellent viewing perspective, exceptional lighting. The distorted surface above the rods is a fine detail. Your signature, due to its 3D nature, is becoming a flexible and original way to both improve (as the case with this render) and sign all of your works. What more can I say.. top vote, Horo!

Good idea, interesting camera angle, wonderfully lit. I have nothing to criticise, 5/5 for sure.

Thank you for your kind comments.

Rashad, though the number of lights increase the time needed to render, high frequency material also does. Here, we have mostly smooth surfaces. And yes, I forgot to switch off the sun. Good eye! I have a render test up at http://horo.dyndns.org perhaps you get the file and report the render needs of your machine.

Oh! Awesome, I didn't even see this for some reason earlier. The lighting is very good on this one, I could tell it was the reactor right away.5/5
