California Dream'n
Description: My first attempt at an ocean scene. I feel I got pretty close to the actual sunsets we have here on the California coastline. Sometimes the sky glows a red-orange color. Hope you like it.

I like your composition very much. The sky is incredible! It's very hard to achieve realistic skies in Bryce. The reflectivity on the sand is good and the rocks are also nice. The water near the shore needs some work, considering it's the Foamy Seawater preset and water on the coastline doesn't look quite like that.

Also the foam should hug the water more. It's not really that far out in front of the water.

But otherwise good job.

nice job, the ocean could use some terrains for waves, and foam, and the sun could be further back and a bit higher above the ground with just a flat orange or red color.

On the first look, a beautiful picture. Colour and composition are perfect. Only when looking closer we find a few things that are not yet state of the art. Foam is notoriously hard to get right. You need a terrain for the water if you look on it at such an angle as here. No matter what material you give it, it will always look flat without a terrain at least in the foreground.

Good colour choices and composition no doubt. I echo Horo's commonents really. Terrains provide a good basis for the water surface and foam is tricky to achieve. Again a tarrain is a good place to start and then experiment with the material, possibly doing something with the ambient channel to give it an opaque white look.

Thankyou all : )

Thanks for all the tips guys. I did'nt know what I was doing with the foam. I used metaballs for the first time and expiramented with a lot of different clouds and water types. I actually did use a terrain, but I think I flattened it out too much. I toyed with the terrain editor for the first time also. I think that I might have used smooth a bit too much also. My next one will be better. I was having computer problems again! UGH! It took me a total of 6 days to render this project??? I don't know if it is my computer or the program. It keeps telling me memory too low. Then it turns the program off. If you have any ideas, I would really appreciate them. Thanks again!

Six days seems like a bit of a lot for this scene. It could well be your computer. The image itself is very beautiful. The colors and lighting are terrific. Aside from what's already been said I will say you are kicking some serious butt lately! Keep inspiring me.
