Fieryice
Description: The terrain was constructed in Visio as isohypses, the spaces in between filled with greyscales with PS and de-terrassed with Iso2Grey -- as ?Gorge? was -- to construct the terrain. I dis this for another project, I must not exhibit yet. I am very pleased how the additional cloud (copied and rescaled from ?MyView? blends into the sky. The sorcerer living in the white castle may not be friendly. Never forget that Saruman the White changed sides. All may be possible.

Very good!

ah, but saruman is not the white anymore. he is "saruman of many colors". but yes, he changed sides. but on the picture, I am not so fond of the terrain. however; the sky is one of the best bryce skies I've seen yet. those volumetric clouds make all the difference. also, the river is exellent. I Like the rushing and flowing feel of it. the towers are, I think, an unneisary addition. I'll give you a 5 because the sky.

Yes, the water is very good, not so keen on the sky or maybe it is because the surface of the rocks look a little flat - think you could do with a bit less ambient and more diffuse light spilling down the side to pick out some nice bumpmapping - maybe, unless it was the effect you were aiming for I'd consider increasing the terrain resolution to eliminate straight lines. However I'll still give you a 5 for that water. On the subject of LOTR, wasn't it "Saruman the grumpy and insisting on having all his scenes pulled from the third film?"

Sky & Water

Thanks for the comments, guys. To one, the sky appeals, to the other the water. Cliffs, towers and my comment on Saruman are the points of critic. Yes, The towers make everything worse then better, I agree on that. The cliffs, however, came quite as I wanted -- low res on purpose. The bumpiness is a bit hidden, I must confess. Red stands out, black retreats. But it could be better. Oh, the water: believe it or not, it's straight out of the library. Astonishing, isn't it? I think the floor makes the difference.
