Surprising

Looks simple enough. As I mentioned before, simplicity is not necessarily bad: sometimes, less is more. I like this one because of it. Very interesting light, this makes probably the difference. The weed in the foreground, how'd you do it?

Grass

The grass is actually a picture. i found a picture of grass, made it a 2d object, and duplicated it all across the ground.

with a better mountain range in the back, this could be a exellent pic! make a mountain range by going into the terrain editor and upping the resolution to 512. then gererate a fractal (Mordor works best) and hit "Gaussian Edges" twice. scale the terrain up, move it back, and repeat until you have a nice range!
