Golden Trinity (Blue for insight)
Description: Compostion is of a type more often found in religious painting, I revamped the scene with my new lighting theory so if you've seen this one my website you can judge for yourself if you think the new lighting is better than the old. I'm kinda a fan of the old SF book covers so I was going for that 60's Asimov look.

incredible!

I myself am a fan of Asimov's novels, though I don't especially like science fiction. did you model the floating ship tthing with metaballs? that must have been many hours of work.

Cheers!

You are right in the respect that the ship thingy was moddled in metaballs but wrong in thinking that it took many hours. For the main loop I took one metaball shifted it's origin outside itself and used the multireplicate command to create the snail shape - the spikey bits were also multi replicated and the back is one big meta sphere - the trick was getting the materials to blend nicely. I have noticed that meta spheres can't seem to handle the blend transparency channel so you get a glass like effect - curious?

Missed

Sorry, must have missed this. Looking at it, I'd bet it was made in Wings3D but I seem to err this time. Yours truly has been a great fan of Asimov's, mainly because his SF novels are positive and stick to logic. Great work! Would pass as a SF Trojan Horse... but then, it might be a goat.

Fantastic

Yes, you have the Asimov touch to this. The structure really reminds me of the space craft found it the first movie aliens. It gives me that explore feeling, excelent
