In an effort to get to grips with different aspects of wings3d... lots of trial and error with this one, I made the model and then I wanted to break it into different components (what a nightmare) shows how you should plan ahead. Tuning knob things and strings done in bryce - also very fiddly, the strings are super long thin clynders - so long that it was nearly impossible to manipulate them - next time I'll do the long bit of the strings in wings too! Used beanzvisions HGL for a bit of ambient light fill in. All in all took about 4 hours of beard pulling and head scratching and about the same to render. Trial and error. :0)
Incredible detail on the guitars head with those cogwheels -- the whole part is just marvelous: could be a photograph. The main body looks like a comics drawing to me. But this is well, a mix of caricature and realism: very artful indeed.
