Homage to XP
Description: Simple idea here, I'm sure you don't need me to explain. Wings3d used for the wave shape and a lot of fiddling about in the sky lab to get the colours just so.

XP pro is worth its weight in gold.

Simple?

Looks quite simple, but I bet it wasn't. Looks very 3D.

Wings3d and focus

Yes, I really like wings3d, partly because it is free - acutally mostly because it is free! And it is easy to use, that's helpful too. And, well, with something like Poser, some people have access to that sort of software and some don't so it's not a level playing field for us poor ameters, but with something like wings there can be no complaints because everyone can have a go if they so desire, (OK there are one or two bryce purists out there who will object - Veny? But can't please everyone so why try?).

The out of focus in this case was done with the benifit of premium render (64 rays) with soft shadows ticked and depth of field set to the centre/intersection of the window shape. I'd also raised quite a bit of fog to just under the shape so at to give it a definite contrast lift from the shadows below.

Simple, well the shape was (obviously) that took about ten minutes after I'd thought my way around the easy way to get what I wanted - the lighting took about an hour or more to set up. Like I said, very fiddly.

Purist

Oh, yes I am, concerning post production. Wings3D is an input software and like PlantSudio, Poser and others quite legitimate to my purists view. I haven't yet scratched on the surface of Wings3D, only stroked it a little and I've noticed once again: tanstafl. Repeat: what most impresses me is the 3D appearance.

I don't know exactly how to find the right download on that site...

Can you walk me through it?

Thanks.
