Shelter
Description: Weather forcast: rain will continue unabatted for the next 48 hours.

Landscape material ?Bluebell Woods? by David Brinnen, a very versatile material for landscapes. For the corrugated iron roof, another one from David: ?Rusty Iron Mk.III? and the yellow light shining out from inside the shed makes interesting colours on the rust. The rain is done with Jonathan Allen's ?RainCube?. The same material was used for the water dripping from the roof.

Is rain white?

I'm feeling the effect but I'm still not entirely convinced. Glad to see your utilising the materials. I've not tried the rain cube although I did follow the links and admired his beach scenes - very impressive. I've still not got around to sorting mine out - I think I shall have to study his wave tut's. Maybe some water (metaballs) dripping from the edge of the shelter? I'm going to have a go at this interesting challange, I'm thinking of converting my condensation material and using some refraction to break what lies beyond the rain - so to speak. Your rain had depth, which is part of the battle, but I feel it is too regular maybe? Or just too apparant if you see what I mean. Ian's had the feel and maybe the gloom but this is more three dimensional. Maybe a conbination of these effects is the answer? Dunno.

Depends on reflection

Thanks for the comment, it's appreciated. I shot a pict against the weeping willow when we had a downpour the other day. Rain is really hard to catch, even if it rushes down in thick strings. Mine here is too obvious, particularly were it drips down the roof. I also hate what appears as a vanishing point right of the cernter of the pict. Couldn't get rid of it. Found another tutorial about rain, might try that one day. I think, your condensation might work nicely, if appropriately applied -- and that's probably the catch.
