Wonderous thing...

Tonkin certainly puts a lot of thought into his images, "figments" I think is still my favorite of his, but this one is as you say provoking. I too wonder that this thing is. I too wonder if Tonkin's next image might be of this wonderful thing - or maybe one of us will do that for him - who can say?

Can't say I like the look of that liquid in the battered pewter mug - is that grog or increadibly strong coffee?

The material applied to the telescope appears most stunningly real. I wonder if Tonkins next picture will reveal what is so cleverly hidden forty paced due north...
