Copse above Vale
Description: Three Arbaro-Trees manually instanced several times and two Bryce trees for the grass; everything in a mirror cube fading to transparency upwards. Ambient light and part of the backdrop from the Plaine Morte_3840 HDRI from the HDRI_SceneFiles_4 set (available at Daz 3D), the key light by the sun. High above the valley are trees in the high grass.

That mirror trick never ceases to amaze! Brilliant. I love the look of the foliage here. Nice work making transparency look this way. Nice bright lighting as well.

Thank you Rashad. The foliage has your translucency principle applied to them, I just adapted your texture a bit. The fading mirror (David's idea) needs a high max Ray Depth, 12 in this case. This together with the translucency doesn't actually help to make it a speedy render, but I think the result is worth the computer time.

Here the foliage is illuminated more or less realistically. There are no separate, too bright leaves. Perhaps modeling of geometry in the Arbaro plays an important role, and perhaps the lighting with HDRI influences.

Thank you. Yes, HDRI helps but a dome light could do the same. I do prefer mesh leaves and do not use those alpha map ones whenever I can.

I also prefer not to use the alpha card lately. I also prefer a clean mesh. This reduces the rendering time by an much, despite the largest possible number of polygons. Bryce trees are basically such.
