Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
Description: I saw all these gorgeous pictures of cars by StuartB4. Now I have tried to create one by myself. The modell is from http://tf3dm.com.

I have learnt it is rather hard work to texture a car properly. The light comes from a HDRI and the sun. The textures of the background terrains and the trunk of the tree are from the product "Vegetation" by David Brinnen and Horo Wernli.

Very nice job electro-elvis. I usually struggle to get the glass material right for the windows, too much refraction and it distorts the objects inside the car.
Yours looks fine.
I know what you mean by hard work to texture a car properly. Some car models are really accurate and made of so many parts, but if they are textured correctly the inside of the car can make a good render.
Although I've not tried it yet. May be you'll do that first. :)

Thank you StuartB4 I really appreciate your friendly comment.
BTW the glass is from the Bryce library. It is called "glass light 2". First I used "glass bubble 1" but this looked too thin and was also too transparent.

Great render. The outside looks very real. Two details: the wall and the tree trunk look a bit on the blue side. If you reduce Saturation for the HDRI this may help a lot. Rendering with soft shadows would yet improve the result. If you use IBL shadows, keep Quality at 16 and render Premium. You may get good results with 16 rpp already and it is faster than regular render when IBL soft shadows are used. Nevertheless, that's just my 2 cents. The render is great as it is.

Thank you Horo. You are right with the saturation. It is a bit too much.
I have tried your advice with the premium render. I think, I made something wrong. The render time went through the roof ;-) I will give it a second try.

I commented first on the yellow one, so I will be more detailed in this response. There are several things going on exactly right in this scene if realism is the goal. There are just two issues I'd want you to look at.
1. Be careful with the leaf translucency. Try to use only grayscale values for the Transparent and Volume Color Channels. I know lately we've been discussing translucency and SSS for leaves on trees, and I meant to mention to David B the other day about the choice he has made in the video about using green colors in the Transparent and Volume Color Channels. If you look at the front wheels of the car it looks like the leaves are casting green shadows onto the ground. In real life I have never observed a green colored shadow on the sidewalk. I think it best to use green colors for diffuse and all, but keep the transparency channels in grayscale so that shadows dont turn green. I suspect that in real life if you photograph a leaf at a very close range then you might see the greenish shadows, but once a shadow has traveled through enough space, it gets mixed and tends to lose its green and appear as grayscale by the time they hit the ground.

Come to think of it, the translucency could be why the render seemed to take longer than expected. The leaves look amazing so I think translucency is the right choice. I suspect you avoided translucency in the yellow version?

2. A slight blue tint to the skylight, in this case to the IBL, would have been nice. Even though it is a somewhat clouded day, it isnt fully clouded and so I'd expect a little bit of blue.

I'm mostly nitpicking, as this level of work doesnt leave much room for criticism. Amazing!
