Solitaire
Description: Here’s my latest, the photo in the paper is actually my grandson at my desk.
The cup, saucer and spoon and the newspaper objects are from Archive3D.
I added the tea and the bubbles and the front page to the paper.
Made the Solitaire board, the pen, the coasters and the table with Bryce.
HDRI for the background. Took 16 hours to render @ 64 RPP, Soft Shadows, Boost Light and Max Ray Depth = 4
Was going to use 256 RPP but still had jagged edges around the rim of the cup and the render time was ridiculous
so I dropped it down to 64 and there was no noticeable difference.

Excellent materials, textures and lighting! The tea and the bubbles look pretty convincing. I also like the newspaper.

I commented over at Daz3d but I will repeat some of it here. I think the bubbles look amazing and make the ta look good enough to reach into the screen and swallow it down! Everything you've done here looks incredible. Could easily be mistaken for a photo!

Perfect materials and modelling as always. Nice newspaper and I love this semi-transparent material of the ball pen.
Great idea to add a few bubbles to the tea. You have a good feeling for nice details.
If I had to tell you something to improve? Hm, IMHO your picture looks a tiny bit too crisp, especially on the spheres of the solitair game. There are so many highlights. The perfection of these spheres irritates me a bit.

Thanks for your kind comments electro-elvis. The highlights all come from the hdri background image, it has a lot of bright spots in it.
I could probably put it in to Photoshop and mess with it a bit but I don't like doing post work in other programs, I like to use only Bryce when I can.
I have more of an issue with the jagged edges around the rim of the cup. Even rendering in 256 RPP it was the same. It maybe because of the contrast between the light colour of the cup and the darker colour of the background, not sure. It maybe the Max Ray Depth which was only set to 4.

The jagged edges are noticable, that's true. But I think it has nothing to do with MRD (Max Ray Depth). In my not so technical understanding: the higher the value of MRD the more bouncing a ray within a material. Has IMHO only influence to transparent materials. But you easily could test that with a little blop render. Of course as far as I can say an increase of the MRI by 1, doubles the render time.
Maybe you could try a tiny bit of DOF, but really only a tiny bit.
I appreciate that you do not want to make any postwork. I try to avoid it, too.

Thanks electro-elvis. I may try it again with slight DOF as you suggest and see what happens.
