Good, I sense the progress here. If it is a learning / experimental process you're conducting, you're doing well. Perhaps you've heard of it, but when working with low resolution hdr image, it's best to hide the aliased (pixelized) edges with a bit of depth of field. A bit expensive at render times but it's a good practice always. The hdr image is more or less blurry anyway so you can only benefit from using DoF.

Looking nice. There is a Background DOF control in the IBL tab just for adapting DOF with the DOF used for the objects (if any). HDRI resolution is a bit tricky because Bryce does everything in memory and - LAA enabled - can only address about 3.5 GB (2 GB without LAA). It helps if camera FOV is made larger.
