Haulage VP2
Description: The train is from Jack Tomalin's Parkside with all the materials changed and the waving driver is Michael 4 by DAZ 3D. The clouds are from David's Cloudscapes 3, heavily modified. Lit by the sun, the ambient light and mountain backdrop from my sunless Illhorn sky dome HDRI. The extreme wide angle lens is bolted to the camera but FOV set quite low to get the fisheye lens distortion that bends the tracks in the foreground.

This is undoubtedly an ambitious work and quality render! Great lighting!
I read on the DAZ forum about your replacement bitmap textures on procedural. This is the right decision! Because bitmap textures take up a lot of space in memory and on disk. I am very jealous of this circumstance. Also, a lot of space in memory and on disk takes external HDRI-image. In combination with the high poly model it often leads to the collapse of Bryce. Therefore, in such cases, I prefer the inside Bryce Sky HDRI.
My only comment relates to the sharp boundary between the gravel and loose soil. We had to somehow mitigate this abrupt transition. I solved a similar problem in this work: http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=4749
By the way, what is the size of your file?

Thank you Alexey. You did a better job blending the two parts. File size, which is 145 MB, doesn't tell you much because Bryce compresses the file on disk. The memory used by Bryce is 900 MB. The HDRI used is very small, 1024 pixels diameter and though the far mountains are rather blurry, we think that this comes from the haze.

Well done, Horo.
I very much like the image size format and the wide angle. In my opinion you could exaggerate the lens effect even more. Artist's choice :) Only two things could use improvement and the 1st one isn't even necessary - the space on the left seems a bit empty, more rocks there wouldn't hurt the eye, although this way our attention is concentrated over the main subject of that image. So, again, it's more of a personal taste whether you put something on the left or not.
The second thingy - a perceive this as a photorealistic render, then perhaps you should use more complex textures/materials on the wagons. With such a nice sky (and I love the faint backdrop btw), volumetric clouds, etc.. the only thing needed is a material that will "break-up" the matte toy-like look of the current train.
On the other handm let's pretend it's a brand new train :) Then, you won't need them textures.

Thank you Eugene. The empty half at left is deliberate and with the power of the fisheye I had experimented quite a while. The train is new, yes. In fact, I had applied simple generic materials with the intention to do a bit more elaborate work on them later on. It looks a bit overly simplistic here. What really bugs me most is the clear line of the tracks on the ground, as Alexey observed. That shouldn't have happened.

Lighting is exactly right! The lens effect is subtle and I admit I didnt even notice it at first. I agree with the feedback about more advanced textures, but even as is it works well for me!

Thank you Rashad. Yes, I had planned to make the materials a bit more elaborate after I converted the models for Bryce. But then, I wanted to see a full train and forgot about it.
