Excellent trees and the ligthing is superb. May I ask a question? What do you mean with "Radial Light as sphere repeater of HDRI with a gel texture"? Sound difficult. But great picture with a nice atmosphere.

Thank you, electro-elvis. Retranslator or repeater or relay station that is what David Brinnen calls "obscure lighting". This method is used for a combination of HDRI and True Ambience. It seems to me that the "obscure lighting" not the right term for this phenomenon, since the radial light source illuminates the scene and additional transfers (rebroadcasts) map HDRI. HDRI can be used as background and not participate in the coverage itself. Involved in covering only the Radial Light with a gel texture and secondary rays bounce when rendering with TA.
Especially, "obscure lighting" can not be authentically translated into Russian. This translates as "vague light." And again, the term "camera obscura" was known at the dawn of photography and cinematography. And this is a slightly different meaning.
In addition, the use of this method eliminates this undesirable phenomenon when rendering with TA, as hot or black pixels. David has a lot of video tutorials on the subject.

Thank you, STKydd. Here, two apples: torus primitive and long-modeled in 3dsMAX. Cloning and duplication. The stump has mixed ABC texture. Raster above and procedural below. Other textures in a scene are procedural.

I should add that you can use as an internal Bryce Sky HDRI, and external file.hdr.

Thank you slepalex for the additional information. I have already watched a video of David about obscure lighting. But I have to watch it again, cause I did not understand everything at the first time. But I can see in your scene this lighting methode delivers great results.

Superb! 5/5. Very well done. You're good at Sculptris. Yes, Obscure is perhaps not an overly good choice. In my language, we use the term rather as something sinister. But the light quality it can produce is excellent.

electro-elvis - I have some Memos on my website www.horo.ch which put the essentials of a video on one page, also for Obscure Lighting. It is under Bryce Documents > Memos > Lighting. I use to forget one important bit or another and I'm impatient waiting until the missing bit is explained in the video. On the other hand, the Memo is useless if the video was not watched before.
