Surface tension
Description: Trying to do bubbles and a dribble of water - another of my self imposed challenges that got out of hand. Decide for yourself if I got there or not. Was torn over the background, this was the most controverstial choice I feel.

nice but not too nice

as i can see it look professional kinda,: )
but a good advice
you could have copy the bubbles that you have already done yea, and make the soze a bit smaller yea move it back a bit.use the fog to make it look like the clouds and
it'll look as if it is the rain falling from the clouds.
iam gonna try that
see what i get :0)

Rain

Yes, rain is something of a tricky one. I have tried but I've not been happy with the results. You may be onto something there, or not, when you see rain you don't see individual raindrops it's just an impression, a kind of visual smudge. Soon as my processor is free I'll give it a go. My 2% a day render has hit a sticky patch and is now running extra slow having absorbed 317 hours of processor time - oh for more processing power!

59% compeated and 373 hrs!

System is 2.4ghz P4 but it's need of extra memory (which has finally arrived from Dabs - after many weeks of waiting) unfortunately as I am sure you can appreciate I am reluctant to kill the render to put the memory in. I'll just have to be patient a little while longer. I'm trying to do something with a depth of field effect and because I'm using transparent metaspheres and extra ray depth, well, it's taking some time - either that or it's just crashed and I haven't noticed because it's going so slow. Thanks for your offer but I doubt you would want to tie your machine up for a month (just think of the deprecaition in value of your new machine!) - and I don't even know if this render is going to be any good when I've done. Oh well...

Still sitting at 59%

Oh no, it's my own fault really, I've bitten off more than I can chew here, I'm getting exactly what I diserve. My computer is fine, the problem is with the opperator - me. This render, I suspect, would take weeks on any machine, I've tired to be too clever and now I'm reeping the rewards. I'll just have to be patient and get on with some other jobs - put it down to inappropraite use of depth of field effect in bryce - but if I can I will finish it. I'm stubborn like that. Thanks for the offer, anyhows but you've got your own stuff to be doing - what about an entry for the Wiktor contest?
