A Bit Of Sunshine In The Basement

A Bit Of Sunshine In The Basement
Description: Nearly all textures are procedural textures. Except the floor and the pipe at the wall. A dome light and 2 parallel lights illuminate the scene.

Lighting magnificent. The peeled-off paint too turned out not bad. However, seams between boards should have "Bump" and dark color. On legs of a table it is necessary to change structure scale.
It about what we spoke here: http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=5194

I agree with slepalex - lighting in this scene is great. I like very much overall mood and atmosphere in this image, everything is harmonized and fits together. Textures are very realistic however there is something not right with floor material ( it seems very pixelated).

Thank you very much for your kind comments.

@slepalex: I see what you mean. You are right. Maybe I am going to make a new version of the picture.
@szpaq10: The floor texture is from the content library that comes with Bryce. And yes, it is pixelated, because the pictures are not very large (roughly 540 x 350 pixels). Frist I used a really nice procedural texture of the Bryce content, too. But it made a ugly bump effect where the sunlight illuminate it. I could not get rid of this effect and that's why I decided to use an picture based texture.

Great render! The peeled-off paint looks very realistic to me. I just got rid off such a table (blue) and it actually just looked that way. As for the floor where a picture material was used, perhaps using a tiling option may help. There is a video about that topic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPHLx336g70

Since your in-between versions of the image (as I read your comment) I'll point out briefly what I think is better in my view and what might use some work.
The table is well modeled and textured. There could be some more bump as Slepalex says, but to me it's not too necessary. Artist's choice here.
The poster ought to read "Old golds", right? So either you flipped the entire image or just your poster texture.
I see a very nice modeled pipe also, textures on the walls and chairs also look great. The floor obviously need higher res texture. Google some, you can find many that will suit your scenario here.
Depending on how you wanted it this might be or not be a solution, but you need just a little tiny bit of ambience inside the bottle's glass material to show more, or make it look thinner by changing the refraction to low value and see if that helps. Lastly - the lamp, it's another very nice textured object, but seems too low hanging over the table. An occasional drinker like me can easily bang my head over the edge :)

Overall your lighting and fine texturing are best sides, deal with those minor details I proposed and there'll be no doubt for full marks. See you around electro-elvis!

Wow! Beautiful. Very believable. I agree with the comments made so far. Peeled off paint is spectacular!
