Ooh, I LOVE this piece. Makes me think of the movie 300 or something. I love the simplicity and yet the attention to detail like the material of the walls, responding perfectly in terms of bump and diffuse. Extremely nice image!

Very well done. Material on the terrain is great, the boat is nice, too, but there is no one on board. I like the composition, the water and how the sky fits the scene. I'm not sure about the blurryness. It doesn't look right to me. Nevertheless, great render.

As both Rashad and Horo have observed, this is a very good render. My only issue is with the DOF/blurryness - unless our intention was to make the ship and environment feel small, then this effect only serves to degrade the image and irritate the viewers eye. In real life, haze does not blur the image with distance it desaturates it - this can be tested on foggy days with a good camera. Photograph your fog and take it home and process the image with saturation and contrast boost - and you will restore much of what was lost - and it will all be sharp. But yes, other than that minor point, excellent work.

hehe, yes i must confess the DOF is mesed up, I realized that just after i loaded this image on server. DOF was my intention, but this one is little to strong. Nevertheless I dont understand what You mean David. Bluriness make enviromant feel small? I thought that things that are far away should be blurred. Maybe thi is because i am wearing glasses and everything that is far away is blurred to mee hehehe.
You are saying that i should desaturate the image instead of blurr it? Are You using distance mask from Bryce in photoshop, paintshop etc? What is the correct use of distance mask?

Yes, wearing glasses could make distant things go out of focus. For our perception of scale DOF is best used for small subjects - otherwise the brain will tell you it is small even if other clues say large for brilliant examples of this see https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=tiltshift&aq=f&sugexp=chrome,mod%3D0&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=XitDUOmtGsTY0QXz0oH4Cg&biw=1920&bih=989&sei=XytDUMyjL6Gk0QXmzIHQAg

wonderful isn't it?

The large made small by "fake" DOF.

You could use a distance mask and photoshop I suppose - I don't know how to do it. I use PSP8 it is much easier for me. But anyway, I would use the haze inbuilt in Bryce or add your own volumetric haze (a better solution) to create the illusion of scale and distance and colour perspective.

I think it is better. You can upload a revised render also here. You can find sometimes 3 or 4 itterations of the same scene. We all learn and it is nice to see how an artwork improves.
