Characters from DAZ Studio 4
Description: I still try to use characters in Bryce 7.1 Pro, that where created in DAZ Studio 4. This is my last picture. Background is Horo's HDRI PfynJungle2. I rendered it with a bit of DOF

My main problem was to send a character from DAZ to Bryce. (I think, I am not the only one, who has this problem ;-). The function "send to bryce" in DAZ produced regularly an error. Now I am using the export function and the filetype "Wavefront Object". That works quiet fine. But you have to do a bit of post-work in Bryce. Especially with the hair and the eye lashes. Unfortunately I cannot find anymore Rashad Carters excellent description the the DAZ' Bryce forum.

For my tests so far I have used the genesis character. What I find a bit a pity about this characters, that you can not change much of their facial expression.

Has anyone a suggestion for a more flexible character. Shall I buy Victoria 5 for example?

I need a suggestion, too for clothes. In the moment I am particularly interested in casual clothes. Is their a set you can recommend?

Well done, lighting looks good and the integration of the HDRI into the scene is excellent. Nice to see you taking advantage of the improved features of Bryce 7.1 Pro.

As for DS, I cannot advise you, I cannot even get my DS to talk to Bryce. You have surpassed me in this. So another well done!

5/5 for use of HDRI and lighting. About the figures, I leave that matter to the experts. Maybe Rashad will offer some help?

This looks really good Electro, i was having the same problem with hair and eyelashes, but i have found that in Daz studio 4, do a custom export and make sure you check collect maps, do not check convert to Bryce and everything will import fine, In Daz studio 4 pro( Free ) Select the Genesis head and go to the parameters on the right of the screen (depends on the setup you choose during install ) You should find sliders to adjust every part of the face, lips, brow cheeks, but to be fair i always end up with some goofy looking people.

Good use of DOF. In this narrow FOV, the HDRI backdrop gets a bit blurred anyway because it is too small. It lights the characters superbly, the light reflected from the ground illuminates the faces superbly.

I have Studio 3 still installed along with 4 Pro. I have a bit less problems with 3 than 4. The bridge Studio > Bryce works quite fine in both versions for me though there are moments when I have to export as wavefront and import into Bryce. I've never worked with Genesis, using the version 2 and 3 characters.

Stephen is right. You should find controlls for everything - mouth, tongue, eyes, ... Cloth and shoes always bewilder me. Some fit, some don't. I have been using Studio since the 0.9 versions but really never got the hang of it.

For clothes there is an auto fit tool to use for things made for older models, you can download it for free from Daz, works really good for hair and most clothes although some still need to be tweaked a little.
One other thing if you still have problems with the eyelashes, you can ungroup the figure, click on the eyelashes and in the material lab increase the transparency, But they look good in this render.

Yes, what you needs is the Bridge workaround thread found here:

I think the ladies look great. Something about the light seems a little too even, it is hard to describe. The hdri is working wonders in the background. It doesn't look like a Bryce render at first glance which is good. The hair turned out nicely as well.

Thanks gentlemen for your nice comments.

@David: But there are pictures of you with a woman in them ;-)
@STKydd + Horo: In the meanwhile I found a few more controls. A lot of them are under the "Poses" to find.
@Rashad: Thanks for the link. I couldn't find it anymore.

@Rashad: I forgot to mention, you are right with even-looking. The light for the ladies comes from a dome light. I should a bit emphasize the pattern of light and shadow of the foliage, maybe.

The dome is doing fine, it just needs a little bias so that a little more light comes in from above.
