Everything looked at separately is well done: the ship, the planet, the stars. It somehow does not fit together, probably because we expect a black sky and no haze.

I think Horo is exactly right. There is a harshness to space, an absoluteness. The planet at first looked like something else completely.
The ship is well done. And I like the glow effect you've achieved around the stars, and I know that is achieved with haze. Not sure what the answer is but I do know that there is a scaling problem introduced by this degree of haze. it actually shrinks the scene.
