Chess
Description: The chessmen are made with Bryce boolean objects. The glass was made with Wings. The book is pure Bryce.

I used True Ambience 64. I actually wanted to use a higher value of TA, but the render time already was exorbitant. 40 hours! The most time was used for the glass. I increased the maximum Ray Depth to 8. In comparisson with the default value of 6, eight does increase the render time 4 times.

Good modeling and excellent lighting!
However, I do not see a need to increase the Ray Depth to 8. For this scene is enough 6.

Fantastic Bryce rendering! Looks very much like a photo. The noise is well hidden. Top marks here.

The True Ambience is doing well here in many ways. The boolean modeling is a good test of the new TA as the old TA did not do well at all with booleans.

There is one area along the head of the White King that looks a bit pixelated. This is reminiscent of the problem to which i am referring. Looks incredibly good overall!

Ray Depth also affects the number of TA bounces, which explains why there is such a grand increase in overall render time.

You're a great modeler, electro-elvis. The figures look very good, the book Schach for Dummies even better. Yes, each increase of max ray depth by 1 roughly doubles render time. Was there a reason you needed such a high setting for the glass?
