A question for Eve
Description: Strange thing happened during this project, Bryce ran out of memory,( it should not have ) started to crash but then decided not to ? , it would not let me save the file so i basicly left my computer running for about 2 days, i was able to get 2 renders to disk before it decided to crash completly, This was the second render, it has pixels spotted here and there that did not render, the difference between the two is that there is a glass tube surrounding the girl and the station with a high amount of refraction and a small amount of reflection,The first render did not have this pixelation, I have a short story to go with this to explain the title but it is not quite finished yet, i will post it when it is done.

I can think of a couple of reasons you might have run out of memory. The hdri might be really large. Also, all of those image textures for the space vehicle you are using, can eat up every last resource. You should consider LAA so you can get up to 3.6gb for a scene.

The light on her looks fine in some ways. TA is not often ideal for these dark outer space type scenarios where there is little environmental light to bounce around. The shadows seem really hard on the light, but it might be due to low polygon count. There are still some transmapping issues to consider such as the hair and the eyelashes and the other eye details. Look forward to reading the story.

Nice work Stephen. Now if this render employs TA then I can suggest a possible cause for the black spots. What has happened to me, is that somewhere in the scene there is a small area of "total blackness" this can be caused by objects with troubled normals or objects (often transparent) that intersect along exactly the same surface boundary. This causes a "black hole" to form in your scene - under normal rendering conditions it just appears black and is innocuous, under TA because of the way the light is gathered to the surfaces the outwards probes that "feel out" any of the "total blackness from the black hole" have all their light removed and return to the surfaces which spawned them fully black. Due to the random nature of TA light gathering, not every point on the surface probes the same bits of the environment - hence the noisiness of TA generally, and the random distribution of black spots in cases where the system goes wrong - which may - or may not be the case here. I hope you enjoyed that overly long winded explanation? And more so, I hope it makes some kind of sense?

Rashad, you are probably coorect about the HDRI, i have a bad habbit of loading the hi-res version early on, though i know i should not till the final render as well as constantly changing and duplicating items. Things for me are in a constant state of flux till i come up with somthing i like. Ever since Daz 4 i have not been able to get any models to go directly to Bryce ( 7.125) this is causing me lots of grief so i have to load everything as a OBJ file, the hair and lashes allways seem to come out this way( even with other 3D programs) Any tips ? What is LAA ?

Davd, Thank you, Yes it is TA and what you are saying makes perfect sense i'm positive that the transparent tube intersects probably with the console, without the tube the black spots did not show up.

LAA means large address aware. 32-bit applications like Bryce can use only 2 GB. However, the 32-bit operating system can actually address 4 GB. With LAA, Bryce can be made to work with up to around 3.2 to 3.5 GB. The tool is free (http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556) and is easy to use. I suggest that you also get the Process Monitor, which you find a bit lower down on the page.

And yes, I like the render!
