Experimenting with TA
Description: About 20 minutes to render - even at this size. Here the aim was to create a realistic interior lighting environment - something which seems to be a real struggle when employing TA. A wide range of different strategies have been tested before finishing here.

TA optimised light sources seemed to either be too dim or to strip colour from the scene.

With boost light enabled, colour seemed better preserved but I could not come to terms with the noise.

So here is a compromise, including a blend of ambient channel, TA lighting, TA optimised HDRI, softened Bryce sun. And a dim yellow orange spotlight - just to add some warmth to the image.

Looks great. A slightly bluish tint is missing.

There are some issues, in particular the noise. The noise here is almost unacceptable, not due to any choices made by you of course, just due to the limitations of TA.

To me there is some degree of cheating, it seems that there is a wall missing behind the camera allowing more light into the room than would otherwise be possible. I'd be interested to see how much difficulty you might have getting enough light in here with that wall closed in?

Getting enough light in enclosed places is very tricky with TA. Boost light would have done the trick, but the noise at that point was terrible. In the end, as you correctly detected, I cheated and opened up the unseen wall to the sky.

The choice to do away with the blueish tint was deliberate. To give the environment more of a "sterile" feel.

Well, what would the use be of a hall if there were not a huge door at one side?
