Alien horizons
Description: This work is based on tutorial I found in the web. Tutorial name: Future horizons ; author: Rudolf Herczog. My work is not so perfect as his, but I think it's not bad.First plan and background city were rendered separatly and composited in photoshop. I uded IBL sky and three radial lights to lit first plan. Background city comes from my previous work -"orange future".

This piece has a nice stylistic feel to it. I love the look of the cables. Makes me think of futuristic movies.

For me the backdrop looks fine. For only six months using Bryce, I'd say you are really getting the hang of it. Keep them coming!!

Works really well, worth the effort of chasing up these tutorials clearly. The pipes and tubes and organic shapes in the foreground work wonders to add interest to this scene.

I like the model in the foreground, it is very well done. I think the backdrop matches nicely. The light is a bit uniform. There's nothing wrong with this, it's an overcast day. However, a bit of strong light to create some prominent shadows would make the scene look more dramatic and particularly the backdrop more 3D. On the other hand, with the low contrast background, the foreground gets the main focus.

Rudolf Herczog, so this is why I felt some similarities. I admire the man as well btw.

Anyway, about your image here, it does have an impact over me. It feels cold, I sense desolate and harsh atmosphere, very good metal/plastic material with just the right amount of specularity and bump. Your lighting is good for the setup. My only criticism will go about the frame you used. It's a bit too thick and "eats" away your image. Remember, frames are needed (if present) to help the picture stand out more, to reveal the picture more, to support it almost subconsciously and not to draw direct attention onto them.
Keep up the Bryce work, you're a talent, it shows.
