Long way home Black
Description: I'm not used to being the center of any controversy ( OK that's a lie ), i normaly do not redo any renders once i am finished but felt i should with this one, It is not my intention to upset anyone as i have apparantly done, The HDRI background has been removed and replaced with the standard Byrce starfeild, there is no sun,no haze,no TA or soft shadows, i have not added any artistic effects, the only light you see comes from the 3 beacon lights and the light from inside.

No one is offended at all. We're just discussing choices openly. Its all good. But the benefit in your upload is that it gives Waleed a chance to see how the haze was baked into the backdrop. Seems the scene is missing something without he background.

I so understand, Steve that you showed here as it is not necessary to do artworks on the theme of space. :)

I know, my friend. There is no need to apologize in any way. Here at Bryce5.com this is what we often do. We analyze our artwork and discuss it in an open manner. You will not find these types of detailed discussions anywhere else on the internet. We test out different methods for whatever interesting topic we are discussing at the time. We are a family here so there is no need to ever worry.

Hmm

I actually liked the first one a lot better =) It created the feel of wonder and amazement. However, in the first one, my eyes were drawn to the background and all the the wonder around. While in this one, my eyes are drawn to the lonely soul since it is very much the focal point of the piece. Great work either way =)

Fully agreeing with Nights4r. This one looks more real - though I haven't been in space myself yet, it's the logic of an airless environment that dictates this.

The first one was much more dramatic - though not completely scientifically accurate. If we watch sci-fi movies, we are not always confronted with the physical correct but with the dramatic. And we watch those movies because of that. (Same for underwater scenes.)

It is good to be able to show the possible real thing. An artistic representation is much more inspiring, though.

With all recommendations, good meant critics and advises put down here as comments, we must be aware that it is finally the artist who decides whether his/her artwork satisfies him/her. The artist is right, not the beholder of the artwork.
