Triple Sun

Triple Sun
Description: I set out to make a cave scene but after many hours realised that I utterly failed and I deleted the top 4 terrains and replaced them by David's Bryce Pro Cloudscapes 5 - Example One (https://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=12094). The sky is nothing special except for the three suns and the light cast on the scene. The Tourbillion Chapel HDRI and Scene Files (https://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=13684) was used in the specular convolved variant and hence the visible suns are the three front windows. The Bryce sun is in the nadir and lights up the clouds that are excluded from HDRI light for speed considerations. However, the Curvature
Canyon 2
material on the landscape (another one from David that comes with Bryc 7.1 Pro) proved to be a render hog. This scene took 10 hours to render.

The three suns work very well, although I'd have to wonder what would happen to the planets orbit in such a system?

I'm unsurprised that this scene was a render hog, even with exclusion the HDRI still interacts with the volumetric slab (due to a bug) and causes considerable slowdown - although not as bad as if the slab wasn't excluded at all.

Added to that a curvature controlled material... yes, time consuming. The worst issue with the curvature control is the smoothing problem, which can only be overcome by have as high a resolution terrains as possible and even then, it continues to be a bug bear.

The blue haze works nicely and gives a good sense of depth and given that we are on an alien planet, this is fine. The bit under the water looks particularly good, partly because of the water material choice and also because of the lighting/shadows.
