Solar Egg
Description: Same model used in "Embryo2", but rendered in Bryce7Pro....a sphere inside a torus, bent & twisted (in C4D)....imported .obj to Bryce....smoothed after import.

I really like David Brinnen's "The Sun" material for the inner object....casts a nice reflection on the water.

(see ProMaterials>Sfx>The Sun)

Will try it in at least one other scene.

YouTube video

@David,
how did you make the Sun material glow?
I didn't realize Bryce materials could act as a light source.....very neat. Need to spend more time in the DTE & your excellent tutorials!

Later....
This should keep me off the streets for a while!
Thanks for all the great tutorials by you & Horo.
Happy New Year!

Looks really good in the video!

Making things "glow" depends on a variety of factors. You should check out the video tutorials if you've not done so, I can give you links...

There is a dedicated making things glow tutorial.

In this case, here it is via ambience and the specific material options for this material. Some of the more efficient and simpler options for volumetric materials will lend themselves to glowing better than others, because of a lack of internal shadow casting.

Also there are a few mini-tutorials on the DAZ Bryce Talk forum relating to various things. There are links from here with some of my recent images, but also I could probably track them down on the DAZ site if you are curious.

glow tutorial

Hi David,

thanks, glad you liked the anim. I'd like to animate the water as well.....saw a great video, but they didn't explain how they did it.
(note: SteveL1701 at YouTube sent me the tutorial, and will ask him permission to post it)

Your sun material is amazing (as are the rest of the Pro Mats you created for us).

I searched and found your tutorial on creating a glowing material....exactly what I was looking for.

Would appreciate any other relevant links you have.

Later....just viewed your glow tutorial....very fine!

Solar egg is looking very nice in the video. If the "sun" inside were solid and the spots moving randomly, that could be an improvement.

About half way down the page you can tap into a good slice of what Horo and I offer up here, http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=13196

But still plenty to go at before you have to shell out.
