Island Sunset, Vue 10 Esprit
Island Sunset, Vue 10 Esprit

Island Sunset, Vue 10 Esprit
Description: Well, after playing around with the Vue PLE edition i decided to bite the bullet and buy a copy of Vue 10 Esprit, It really is amazing software, it seems to handle everything with ease, this render only took 20 minutes on my old PC with the highend graphics card removed and running stock everything. No question that this could have been done in Bryce, but on the same PC it would have taken 25 to 30 hours. But i will not stop using Bryce, Why would i stop using something that has given me so much joy, as a matter of fact i am currantly working on another Bryce space render right now, On another note i seemed to feel no elation when i finished this there was no.......Struggle.

Interesting. Well, Vue certainly has a different quality to its renders. I can't quite put my finger on it. It cannot be denied that it is good, but somehow, on inspection it never seems quite as good as it should at first glance. In terms of pure asthetics I prefer the look of Terragen renders. I might be tempted by Vue if it wasn't for a) the expense and b) the many negative reports I've read. I've tried Carrara before, which seems to have a similar quality render engine, but could not get along with it.

Very nice render. Vue has its merits, no doubt, but all renders I've sen so far are not as sharp as a Bryce render can be. There is always a bit of blur visible, here on the vegetation. This is not bad, it makes the picture softer.

Vue is an awesome software. I've never used it for fear I will like it too much. I agree with David, Bryce could produce this same render in around the same time as Vue. Bryce's volumetrics however still dont have the right form so these clouds though not high in quality still have a natural form that is difficult to achieve in Bryce. David can muster it, but with Vue anyone can muster it, and there is something to be said for that.

Still, i think Bryce 7 can keep up with Vue pretty well in most situations. Bryce 7 really is a big step forward.
