Flying In A Summer Day
Description: The initial situation for this picture was to make mountains, that do look not too uniformly. They should have a mixture of forests, meadows and rocks. At least the beholder should have this impression from a far distance.

Render time only is about 3 minutes. No TA, no IBL, pure bryce lighting. AA is 30.

Good start. The far mountains look good. How you set the middle range is also excellent. It's just the colour I don't like too much. But then, this scene reminds me of the view one has from the Pilatus and the aircraft could even be a Pilatus Porter. The tiny sailboats on the water are a nice detail. The scene has a lot of potential. Keep on working on it.

Good global landscape. However in my opinion the texture of foreground terrain should be made more saturated.

Thank you for your comments.

@Horo: Yeah it looks like an ideal Switzerland panorama. But there are at least one thing, that were different in reality: you could find condensation trails in the sky. ;-) I would love to make them, but could not find out how, til now.

@slepalex: You are most probably right. I am working on a second version.

Looking good. My offer of criticism would be that the atmosphere is perhaps a bit "thick" and rather bluish. Using google images, try stealing some idea's/colours off real skies to compensate for this. You've done a good job with the terrains and the patches of forest, I like that indeed. And as already observed, the boats are a nice touch. Keep up the good work, looking forwards to seeing the next version to see what direction you take this image.

The "P5" is probably not high enough to produce contrails - and it isn't a jet engine, rather a turboprop is it's a P5. Anyway, you can create contrails using a stretched cone or cylinder and give it a volume cloud material - sometimes a surface one suffices. This one http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=1315 is an example that could be improved.

Horo the rights. Trace of the jet happens only from jet planes and at the big height.
Here still an example:

Contrails

Thank you Horo and slepalex for your examples.
I wanted to make the contrails in the sky in the background not behind the little plane ;-). Because I have the feeling, that at least in the area where I live the sky is full of contrails.
The only thing I thought about the "P5" that could be nice is a kind of speed lines around the propeller to bring out its speed. But I reckon I had to do this in a post process e.g. in photo shop.

@slepalex: I suppose the contrails in your pictures are made of a terrain, don't they?

electro-elvis, It is not the terrain. There it is written. It is 2D Face with a mask in the alpha channel. The mask is made in Corel DraW. No post-processing!

Ups, I should not only watch the picture, but sometimes also read the text ;-). Thank you for repeating your answer here. Your contrails look really well.
