oh my God?it's full of stars!

Faster computer makes all the difference. Make the most of it! The feeling of speed does not last long I'm sorry to report.

Good work! How could I not approve? ;)

Oh, 2001, I've tried that years ago. Yours looks gorgeous. I should give it a try with these HDRI backdrops as well, never thought of that. Very well done. Top marks.

Concratulations on your i7 machine. I also have such a one, but it is meanwhile an old crate. Renders tend to use always the same amount of time. The faster the computer, the more you use render intensive options. No gain in time, but potentially in the quality of your renders.

It's actually the reason why the space ships are here. 2001 a space odyssey was written by Arthur C. Clarke (I've read it in 1973) and Stanley Kubrick made a famous movie from the book.

Oh... I thought the book was written after the film for some reason... Of course that doesn't make sense. I wonder why I thought such a thing?

Thank you my friends,

David, in a way you are correct,
The book came out first, but actually took place around Saturn not Jupiter, Because of technical reasons at the time they could not reproduce the rings of Saturn convincingly enough for the movie, so they moved it to Jupiter, I think after the huge success of the movie Clark rewrote the book later to reflect that.( it's just sad that i know all this useless information)

This looks very good. Congrats on the new computer. Now you can set out to do more of the things you always wished you could do but couldn't afford the render time. Your renders will have noticeably better output quality.

TKydd, thanks for the trivia update! Well, maybe that is what I half remembered? Or maybe I'm just loosing the plot. Somebody though, has to know these things. I too have learned much that is useless... I'm trying to think of a upside... sorry. Maybe pub quizes... no, I don't know enough about sport and besides, the pubs around here have about as much atmosphere as the moon.
