This is soo odd. Are you using the same Bryce as the rest of us? If I apply a dot to slot A for diffuse or specular intensity, the slider stops functioning, defaulting to 100%. However, with both of the samples you have sent me this is not the case. The sluider continues to work even after assigning a dot.

There is a bug someplace. If I temporarily replace the picture image with a procedural, the slider stops working just as it should. And when I re-introduce the picture image, the slider remains non functional, just as it should be.

Something is very amiss, because there is ambience as well that is acting strangely. What's going on with this?

Perhaps, the material lab gets confused during the export/import process? I'm really lost on this one.

From my observations on Blue Hex 1

1 - if you look in texture mapping modes, check alpha scaling and the slider will then scale the input of the alpha channel rather than be overridden by it.
