I could not upload pictures to the site. The reason was in IE8 (hello Bill Gates).

Oh... I was looking forwards to seeing this... Have you tried Google Chrome?

Edit.

Ah... it's loaded now. Impressive sense of scale. Above the clouds is a tricky angle, close too they look excellent, in the distance I am not entirely convinced by the cloud and atmospheric combination - can't put my finger on it - something doesn't look quite right.

Lighting and colour choices are good. The terrain forms seem a little bit smooth which is working against the sense of scale somewhat. A bumpier material might help perhaps? Or a rougher terrain? Good render!

There are several things you will need to do in order to accomplish your goals of a global landscape.

For the first thing, use normal AA, don't bother with superfine for now. There is no need to bother with superfine AA if the lighting and other effects are not already 100% realistic. It will cost much more render time and lend very little to the overall impression.

Planning is the key. 1 for 1 when it comes to trees will not get you very far. There is a tutorial on Horo's site written by he and myself detailing how to use trees with submerged trunks, leaving branches exposed, to produce the look of multiple trees for the price of one. Here are two examples of how it looks if done properly:

I need to find the link to Horo's website for the tutorial, but it is a very useful one even in the advent of instancing.

The clouds look excellent except for being far bit too low to the ground for such a clear day. You will need a very different set of haze settings to pull off this sense of scale. If you really want to go big, I have several bits of advice for you if you are open to it. Let me know.

David, Google Chrome I have used for loading of this picture!
Thanks for the valuable advice and comments.

It may be a problem with haze and texture terrains because of the scale of the scene?
The scale of such a scene. Terrain2 height 1200B, houses 17B, trees 34B. The camera is at an altitude of 600B.

At such levels the haze can not raise high enough. Probably it is necessary to reduce scale?
Realistic shape of the mountains hard to achieve a TE even with the function "Eroded".

Rashad, thanks. I always gratefully accept any advice and help!
I always do a test render Regular AA, and Plop-Render.
Clouds I have arranged below distant tops specially as it happens highly in mountains. I clone the trees by hand and dip into the ground by pressing Ctrl+Page Down or Down.
In any case, I'd be grateful for your advice and comments.

Hey Alexey, great to see you back. Good work here.

Set the Cumulus Cloud Height higher. Even if you do not use those clouds, the height controls how far up the haze reaches. Switch them on, move up the cloud height, then switch them off again.

I see clouds at this height quite often where I live. There are also days when the air above the clouds is very clear. The clouds and what is above looks quite natural to me. I'm not so sure about the part below. I struggle with the scale of things - but then, the ground is much lower down in the scenes I see in reality.

Hey, Horo!
Thank you for your detailed comment. I am constantly looking for the real scale of scenes and objects.
