Closer to Mordor
Description: Fore Mnt uses Davids Winter Derbyshire mat from Bryce 7 pro, the fire is also Davids Volumetric Fire, AA set at 144, TA and Soft shadows turned on. This is the first render that i have used TA on and i must say the diffrence is dramatic i'm really happy with the results, Without TA the trees were really dark except for the tops, TA really brought out a lot of Detail. The downside.... the render went from 4 hours to 24 hours... oh well thats why i have an Xbox.

impressive

I love it. First of all volume clouds. They are quite real.

Very to the topic. The landscape and the foreboding clouds fit very well to Mordor. Strange that you would use TA, a parallel light at the camera position could have brightened up the shadows. I like very much what you accomplished here.

@ celart, Thank you
@ Horro, Thank you, I tried using a parallel light but it caused the shadows from the tree's that go through the fog to disapear, in the end i used TA after several test renders, TA is still very much a learning process for me and this seemed like a good starting point. thanks again

Excellent work with the rendering methods and lighting, certainly an accomplishment, I've rarely seen trees and clouds looking so convincing. The area around your name is particularly sublime. Well done indeed!
