Nebula over an alien landscape
Description: Bryce 7.1 pro.

Horo has been to work again on the hdri and worked yet more of his magic.

This scene will be one of ten examples provided with the hdri backdrops - at some point in the future (fingers crossed).

Well STKydd, my first HDRI was also ha ha ha. We all start at the beginning.

The render has very pleasing colours. There's a lot of magik in the use of the HDRI as well. Besides, this HDRI is the result of an itterative work of two. 5/5 for the colour composition and the models.

Thank you. Well, do not be discouraged when it comes to making HDRI it is something of a occult art. The monitor cannot show us what we need to see, the dynamic range is too low in comparison. This means lots of experimenting and some luck. One of the best HDRI I had for some time was one Horo made from an image of the moon. While many which had much more labour put into them failed to work quite so well.

Here in this nebular I have only contributed low dynamic range components and the good lighting provided by this backdrop is down to the greatest extent to Horo's clever manipulation and measurements.

So yes, this is a hill we are all to some extent still climbing. While Horo has clearly gained the upper slopes - I think even he would admit that making good HDRI is still no walk in the park.

Don't give up STKydd!

impressive

Your control about lights and skies are nearly perfect. Scene composition is amazing.

Thank you! Well, just to say this scene along with nine others, 6 hdri, 35 sky presets, two video's and a pdf document, have all been bundled up and submitted to DAZ as a product by Horo and myself. Goodness only knows when DAZ will get around to publishing it...

But that's my plug (and my grumble) for today!
