Wow! Very excellent. I'm guessing you increased the FOV which is why the moon is a bit stretched. Still 5/5 amazing render. Best I've seen in a long time!

just noticed do you know why part of the rings are missing? Is it a lighting issue? or something else?

Thanks indeed. Yes the wide FOV upsets the geometry of anything off centre.

As for the gap in the rings. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/cassini/multimedia/pia08362.html

It is the shadow of the planet. I know it looks strange, but as you can see from the link, that apparently is how it is in space.

The ring does look odd. It must be really thin to make the stars shine through so bright. It appears that the stars are not attenuated by the ring but rather the brightness of the ring outside the shadow makes the stars shining through fainter (less contrast). The black shadow on the ring, however, looks very plausible.

The small moon at right is a nice detail. Looks almost as if it would function as a "shepherding" moon, considering the gap in the ring.

Apart from my minor quibbles above, this is certainly a 5/5 space scene.

Thanks Horo, well I've worked a bit on the ring and sent you the file - the cost, as you will see, is to upgrade the volumetric material shading mode. And hence push up render time.

I've used drop box for backups. I've never used it for sharing.

Of course you can use this image! And any any other of mine that takes your fancy. If you want specific resolutions just drop us an email. No problem.

Edit forgot to say, I've got an updated version of this image addressing the concerns over the ring.
