Alien Politics
Description: I used Alien Artefacts 6, 9, 11 and 19 from MatCreator's Alien Artefacts 2 package, see http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=12916 and put them into a sphere. The sphere has an Apophysis Flame (thanks to Richter) applied and an alpha map made from it. The scene is lit by the specular convolved Room HDRI from the Tourbillion series I'm currently working on to put them into the DAZ store. Parts of the HDRI rendered as backdrop shine through the sphere. Rendered in less than 7 hours in this size in normal priority.

Your abstracts are very very cool, though i'm not sure what to make of the alien artifacts themselves, Ive tried to use Apophysis in several renders but i'm afraid my skills are somewhat meager, I have applied the flames to 2D circles but they never seemed to look right,
Well done on all three renders

Cool and also heartening. The atrifacts themselves could have been rendered as something horrific or frightening, almost Geigeresquely grotesque. Instead this is to me a cheering image, the artefacts though alien in form look convivial rather than threatening, like toys or jelly and as such I find this contrast refreshing and novel.

Maybe alien politics is not such a murky business as human politics?

Strange feelings about this one. It is less abstract (if it is possible to say so) than previous ones, but it is more friendly maybe.I like it.

Strange, for me it's a bit creepy, not at all friendly. But then, an abstract is an abstract and the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thank you all very much for your nice comments.

STKydd - if you have a flame from Apophysis, resize it to make the width twice the height, then wrap it on a sphere in Bryce using spherical mapping. With the camera inside that sphere, you can make quite nice renders. There will be parts that are distorted, but other parts look quite good.
