Summer at the Sea
Summer at the Sea

Summer at the Sea
Description: This is my first attempt here in Bryce5.com (but not my first with Bryce). Everything is made in Bryce 7.1 Pro. For the clouds I used a variation of David Brinnen's clouds in a the scene "Big Sur", which came with
the programm. The texture of the sea is also a David Brinnen texture. The seagulls are modeled in Bryce.
Hope you will enjoy my picture a bit.

Welcome to this gallery, electro-elvis. You made a great start with this picture. Wow, the seaguls modelled in Bryce. They are excellent! Good use of of David's clouds, they look very convincing, like a photograph - particularly with the haze setting used. The lower part of the terrain looks very good, I'm less convinced with the steep slope. The water looks good, too.

Thank you Horo for your kind comment. I agree with you with the steep slope. I tried to adjust it in the DTE, but... DTE still keeps unpredictable for me ;-)
Another point is, I think, the shadows in the steep slope are to soft. But I just saw this in the final render and after 5 hours render time I left well alone.

As well as echoing Horo's comments, with respect to the sky (you have indeed produced an excellent blend) and material, I will point out, that I've recorded several hours worth of video tutorials specifically about the DTE and some of these should be uploaded to the DAZ Bryce tutorial thread this week - according to Blaine.

This is the link to the video tutorial thread. http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=145803

The specific DTE vidoes are not yet uploaded, but as I said, this week is promised, so watch that space if you are interested.
