The Ardent's Ribbands

The Ardent's Ribbands
Description: Two terrains and a sphere. The terrains use displacement, the sphere some transparency, some diffusion and reflection. Lit by the HDRI from Inside, specularity is brovided by a slightly yellow sun and the HDRI rendered as backdrop. The HDRI was made from an artwork of David's: http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/0/bryce-pro-cloudscapes?item=11097&cat=&_m=d Cloudscapes 3, centre left. It was an experiment. Made and rendered with Bryce 7.1 Pro beta.

Inspired by "Against All Things Ending", The Last Chronicles of Thomas Coventant by Stephen R. Donaldson.

My turn

It like a neo- impressionism artwork. The matching colors are very interesting.

(frecnh) : C'est comme un tableau n?o- impressionniste. Tu devrais en faire un tableau. Le choix et l'harmonie des couleurs sont vraiment int?ressants.

Wonderfull bryce abstract art horo! I'm really impressed.. Another nice way to use our favorite software.

Je vois que tu pratique la langue de Moliere? Habitant Metz je suis un adepte du nouveau centre Pompidou o? j'ai pu voir des oeuvres similaires ? ton image.

5/5 cel? vas de sois.

The effect is baffling for the eye, it is not easy to determine what is in front of or behind anything else, but there is an overall impression of depth. Because of the horizontal and vertical pattern I see amid the chaos I am reminded of Mondrian. If this were to evolve into something more controlled and flatter I think the comparison would be stronger. Or maybe with the gold theme Klimt?

Thank you David. The red/yellow/green is in front, the blue in the back - and then, there are the grey shadows even farther back and finally your cloudscape. Don't know Mondrian and Klimt, I'm afraid. An anaglyph would show the depth but all colour would be lost.
