In the light of Plaine Morte
Description: Bryce 7.1 beta

Here's a simple scene lit with Horo's PlaineMorte_1280.hdr - the high resolution hdr version was not required since it only provides light and is not rendered as a background.

Clouds are volumetrics.
Terrain exhibits the new DTE curvature filtering native to 7.1 which allows materials to self modify according to the geometry onto which they are applied.

Nice use of the new DTE suff David. It's alway a pleasure to see that horos hdr provide such great ibl lightning.

It's funny because from too weeks now, i'm working on an high altitude lake (with lotsa trees and details).

You'll be able to see it in some few days.

On first look this is another of your stunning scene!

But on a second look it seams like there is some pixelation close to the camera?
Otherwise a great scene! I like the sense of distance.

Interesting stuff terrain and beautiful reflection of clouds in the lake.
However, I think that from this height on the horizon to be visible terrain too.

@Alexey. Yes you are correct about the horizon. I think I could try to argue. It is lost in mist? Or we are very high and the earth is curved? But the truth is, I do not do such complex scenes as you and often do not like to use more than three or four objects in a render.

Yes DTE has new curvature filtering. You can read a bit about it here. http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=152071

Agree with you david and this is not sycophancy. We allready have a conversation about that: each one has its own style. You don't have to proof you're a good bryce user by placing thousand objects in a scene. Most of time, single bryce terrain with simple cloud plan looks very good.

Very nice and cold place. The new filter type helps to make the material on the terrain very interesting. For the volumetric clouds, the quality could have been a tiny bit higher for this size.

Hmm, let's see. The clouds are outstanding. The water is a little silvery for me perhaps, but within the realm of plausibility. The curvature feature is working a true delight here, and surely looks different than slope tools we would normally apply for these purposes. Excellent work here, both technically and artistically.

At this level, you have a library full of effects and skies and what not that you know well how to utilize. Great job!
