Snowy Hills 2
Description: After going through a bunch of tutorials from David, I re-did the materials on this to get more of what i really wanted :) I wanted something that looks reflective and icy on the sides, but then snowy on the top :) Just watching a few tutorials made a huge difference in my understanding of that Deep Texture Editor. A lot of power in there I never could understand.

Fog

I'm still trying to get a better haze / fog in the river area, but i want it clear out in the distance... I'm trying volumetrics, but I honestly don't understand it at all... it doesn't ever come out the way I think it should.

The DTE is a wonderful thing, but not the easiest to get to grips with! I've added a screengrab of the materials setting for a simple volumetric fog, be aware don't overlap primitives with volumetric materials applied as it will clip. Try one large sphere in the foreground and flatten it to suit. Keep up the good work!

Hi Nightst4r,

Hmmmm. I've never seen trees growing out of an iceberg before. Fascinating (Doing the Mr. Spock eyebrow raise). ;-)

As long as photorealism is not the goal - I like this. Imagination is the limit. keep it up.

Crystal Trees sound cool, and I really like this ice effect, very nice. I think crystal trees will be amazing, and could take a while to render but it will be worth it I think.
