Pack Ice
Pack Ice

Pack Ice
Description: Bryce 7 pro render.
Time about 7 minutes.
Uses the same "theory" as goes into the volumetric clouds. Just the same idea turned on its head.

I'm pleased with this because a) it is very simple and b) I've been trying to get this effect for months now (if not years). Thank goodness for faster computers!

I'm not commenting so verbose as I did at that other place when I saw this first. One thing is certain. The idea to bring down the clouds to earth and making them more solid is a great idea. This alone merits a 5/5. The water reflects the blue sky and reflects it to the ice. It all looks very plausible.

Glad to see this progress, David. We were talking about this effect in another forum and from the looks of it you have cracked it pretty well. The light interaction is superb. Too lad we are limited to only those things volumetrics can do, with we could use these materials on any kind of mesh. As an experiment it is a full marks earner. FYI, the water looks amazing!

Love this!

Looks pretty realistic. Interesting that you used volumetrics to achieve it.

Unbelievable!! Another lesson of Bryce 7 capability. This iceberg could be real. For my part, I found the image perfect but imagine if you've added an icebreaker?
There's No doubt that this is a real artwork.
