Very nicely modelled bridge. Surely more rewarding model it yourself than just getting a model from the internet as I had done here: http://www.bryce5.com/details.php?image_id=2454

The vertical steel cables ask for a premium render with 36 rpp or more. Which might be prohibitive considering the time the beautiful sky would need to render. I wonder if it would be feasible to render the bridge against a neutral sky and blend it in with a graphics app.

Thank's Horo, yes that's not a bad idea. You are correct about the sky slowing things down, which I why I didn't - I suppose I should not be so Bryce purist about the render and get into the postworks?

As for making the model, it was pretty fiddly because I've not got to grips with (or they don't exist) the navigation tools of wings3D. So connecting up the cables was a real faffy job.

The model bridge in your render is more complex than mine, but having spent a few hours yesterday starring at suspension bridges, I'd say the downwards cables are too thick. These beauties are more spider web than mechano.

Those clouds are quite amazing. The bridge suffers from lack of AA, and of lack of specifying materials perhaps. Not sure how many pieces the model is made of, but it should not be a fully uniform material to my imagination. The water looks very good in terms of wave/ bump. Perhaps a tiny bit of something could be done to increase the transparency so it looks less silvery. But as this was an exercise in skies mostly, I would say it is a stunning success!

Seems like pulling teeth to get feedback sometimes, so I figured I would try to offer some

Thanks Rahsad. Yes, about the AA. The water is fully transparent, but the camera is so low it is not seeing into it at all at this refraction, I should change the refractive index probably. I should also cut the model up probably and apply more varied materials.

And yes, your feedback is of course appreciated.
