In Bryce 7 the picture looks more natural, I'd say. I'm waiting for release!

I agree with Alexandr. I've compared all the three. The Carrara one is higher contrast, the initial one has an interesting backdrop but this one looks the most real - or shall I say professional - of them all.

Thank you for your kind remarks. I am slowly finding my way around TA - but beware, it requires lots of processing power to beat the noise.

Yes, the Bryce version has the advantage here, although if rendered under different circumstances, the Carrara version would have turned out much better. Under such a dim deep sky I think his TA does very well indeed. There are only a few places where the radiosity fails to convince me. If you look at the red balls and the way they red color is reflected by the white beams, you may notice how "tight" and sharp edged the color bleed is, looking very much like a wet reflection, not a fully diffuse one. In real life, such a color bleed would have much softer blended edges.

Still, TA is getting better and better!

Sometimes noise is needed for the sake of imperfection a 3d work needs to be taken as real. That is not to say that I'm not fond of what I see as a result here. As with most thing in certain artworks - it's all about personal taste. Right here you did make a good call regarding the comparison of the Br6.1 and Carrara versions, though in my opinion a low-reflection metallic surface with some noise by the renderer will set the mood differently. I do like them all three pictures though, as they are.
